The Friday 5 - Middles

Since I have this Posterous account, I decided I should actually start using it. My Twitter friend @Scrivener posted a link to this site and it looked like a fun post to do.
  1. What usually marks the middle of your day?  Picking up my son from school.
  2. From whom (or to whom) was your most recent middle-of-the-night phone call?  Most recent one was from my husband on the way back from one of his wedding gigs.
  3. On what social, political, economic, or moral issue are you in the middle of the road?  Pretty much everything. I don't like confrontation and I don't like to be controversial about anything.
  4. How likely are you to give someone your middle finger?  Not likely at all. I'm more likely to "use my words" and you have to get me really, really mad for me to direct profanity at an actual person. Of course, this all changes when I get behind a wheel. I still don't use that particular gesture, but my language gets more colorful.
  5. When were you last caught in the middle of a disagreement that really had nothing to do with you?  Please see response to question no. 3. I avoid confrontation as much as possible, so to jump into the middle of a disagreement (except for between my children) is just not in my nature.

The kids wanted sushi tonight

We asked the kids what they wanted for dinner tonight and they not only decided they wanted sushi, they decided it had to be Kazoku Sushi. They apparently consulted with @ParkRat's kids on their choice of cuisine. Who are we to argue when they make such great choices?

It's located in Kapolei across from Home Depot and next door to Taco Del Mar, the kids' other favorite place to eat. They don't have boats at this place, but the kids still enjoy taking plates off of the carousel and the prices are very reasonable.

Here's Gil's side next to our pile of plates.

She'll Fool You All

This is my daughter Gigi. She's three going on thirteen and (I like to believe) super smart. Our family is big on dessert, but we try not to have it EVERY night. Gigi usually pronounces it BA-ZERT and has never said it any other way, so Gil, my husband thought he'd found a way to avoid serving dessert without looking like the bad guy. He announced that we were not having dessert until Gigi pronounced it correctly. In perfect English, Gigi says, "Daddy, can we have dessert now?"

Needless to say, Gigi got her dessert that night and Gil and I had a good laugh.
